Oahu Parasailing Tours: What to Expect

While parasailing tours last between 30 to 60 minutes, you’ll spend about 5 to 10 minutes in the air. You’ll depart on a motorboat shared with a small group of others also on the tour. Everyone on the boat will get an opportunity to parasail during the tour.

The safety harnesses accommodate two or three people, so you will get to parasail with another person(s) from your party. When it is your turn, your group’s harness, also attached to the canopy, will rise as your towline is slowly let out and the boat picks up speed.

Parasailers can fly as high as 500 ft., as this is the maximum height allowed in the U.S. The length of the towline, the wind, the weight of passengers, and the speed of the boat will all determine how high you will actually soar. While you’re airborne, you will enjoy a stunning view of Waikiki and Diamond Head Crater.

When your time in the air comes to an end, the crew will slowly bring in your towline. Eventually, you should land on the landing pad on the back of the boat. However, keep in mind that tours often playfully “dip” passengers in the water as they bring them down. Remember to wear clothes that you don’t mind getting wet!

After all passengers have had an opportunity to parasail, the boat will head back to the harbor. Oahu parasailing tours are short but sweet, so they are easy to fit into any vacation itinerary.
