Description

The Diamond Head Luau in Waikiki is a foodie's dream!

Food stalls line the grounds at the Diamond Head Luau at the Waikiki Aquarium.

Rarely does food take center stage at a Hawaiian luau, but the newly reopened Diamond Head Luau is proving that it can be done. They've partnered with a favorite local restaurant to provide the traditional luau fare you would expect, but with surprising additions. Kalua Pig and Lomi Lomi Salmon are served along side Braised Short Ribs and Lobster Linguine. Sounds good, right?

The well appointed buffet isn’t the only thing that sets this luau apart from other luau. Diamond Head Luau has a seating capacity of under 100 people. That’s tiny compared to most luaus on Oahu, which often serve several hundred guests a night. It's also one of the few luaus that are within walking distance of most Waikiki hotels.

Diamond Head Luau also has one of the freshest and liveliest luau shows around. Featuring a talented cast of local dancers, musicians, and performers. You’ll enjoy a night of live music, Polynesian dancing, and a thrilling fire knife finale.

This is a small, intimate luau that has everything you'd expect, minus the crowds and bland buffet food!

Friday Night Foodie Experience

The Diamond Head Luau Foodie Experience is unlike any other. Diamond Head has created the “Taste of Hawaii” culinary experience, featuring signature dishes prepared by some of the area’s finest restaurants and food vendors. Forget about long buffet lines and bland dishes. Instead, you’ll find high quality Hawaiian and Asian inspired cuisine, made from fresh local ingredients. Each dish is proudly served by the very people who prepared them. The luau grounds are lined with food stalls to choose from. Each restaurant serves a signature dish and luau guests are given the opportunity to try them all. Bring your appetite though, because there are eight vendors to choose from and the portions are generous. Only available on Fridays.

Getting There

The Diamond Head Luau located on the lawn at the Waikiki Aquarium, at 2777 Kalakaua Avenue. It is a short walk from most Waikiki hotels. If it is not walkable from your lodging, taxis or rideshares are also an option. If you drive yourself, there is free and metered parking along Kalakaua Avenue near the aquarium, but finding an open spot at this time of day can be tricky. Give yourself extra time just in case you have trouble finding a space or you have to walk.
