Description
Escape the hustle and bustle of Waikiki and enjoy a relaxed, laid-back evening at Nutridge Luau!
The Nutridge Estate regularly hosts small, family-style luaus from their picturesque perch high in the Tantalus mountains. Feast and immerse yourself in Polynesian culture while gazing down on Honolulu and the Pacific Ocean in the distance.
Although only twenty minutes from Waikiki, you'll feel a world away as you take in the spectacular view and tune into all the natural beauty that surrounds you. Many people make the drive up the mountain for the view alone because it is the ideal spot to enjoy a refreshing breeze and a sunset.
Nutridge Luau guests are free to take a stroll through the grounds of this former macadamia nut plantation and the lush rainforest that surrounds it. You can also partake in any of the many traditional Polynesian games and demonstrations that are offered, including an up-close fire-knife demonstration which you do not want to miss.
If you like, you can even get your hands dirty building an imu, the traditional underground oven. Or you can just relax and take in your breathtaking surroundings. The limited number of luau guests (usually 20 to 80) ensures that every guest at Nutridge Luau can have personalized experience and enjoy a great view.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Hawaiian luau without a feast! The Nutridge Luau menu includes sweet and savory dishes that represent the best of Hawaiian cuisine: tropical ingredients, traditional luau foods, and Asian inspired dishes. Farm-to-table dining ensures that the food is fresh, locally sourced, and of the highest quality.
Adults receive two complimentary alcoholic drinks with admission (must be over 21). A limited selection of tropical cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages are available.
Family-style seating is located under a large tent. Guests are protected from the elements but are still able to watch the sunset and see the lights of the Honolulu skyline in the background. Polynesian dancing is performed throughout dinner.
The Nutridge Luau evening show is a more modest stage production than you will find at the larger luaus in the city. However, the performers are remarkable, and you will find that the small, intimate space and natural setting offers its own kind of magic – and everyone gets a front row seat at this luau!
