At the end of every day, the sun leaves its last rays on the highest point of the island. On the Haleakala Sunset Tour, you can stand on the summit and watch the sun sink into the horizon. Let our guides drive you to volcano in our fleet or Deluxe Minibuses. They offer expert narration of all you see along the way and insights into ancient and modern Hawaiian culture. You'll explore the upcountry lands of Maui. The tour includes a stop at a local lodge from unique crafts and snacks.
Entering Haleakala National Park is a breeze on the Haleakala Sunset Tour. Your admission to the park is part of the tour. Before reaching the viewing area, there is time to explore some historic locations. The stone visitor center stands as a rustic reminder of the old National Park architecture. Silversword plants, found only at Haleakala, and the rare Nene Goose may be seen from the parking lot as you arrive.
You'll know it's time for the light show as people start to gather in the viewing area and the sky begins to dim. Be sure to dress warmly as the temperature drops quickly at this elevation. Watch the shadows grow long as the sky the turns from blue to orange. On a clear day you see distant islands and other volcanic summits from this vantage point. Hotel pick up is provided from major Maui hotels. Enter the name of your hotel at time of reservation. We are not permitted to pick up in residential areas or at B&B’s. Please choose a pick-up hotel location nearest your accommodations and we will meet you there.
